A sneak peek into our attitude and approach...

We at Passion for Painting care for every single one of our clients and we want you to know how our wheels turn and get a sense of what it might be like to hire our services. We believe that customer satisfaction is achieved via communication, transparency and putting you at the top of our priority list with accommodating your every need and desire wherever we can.

The name that we hold is a statement of truth, there is, quite literally a passion for what we do. Beginning with our paint system. We use water-based and hybrid paint systems. Our reason for this is the love and care that we have for the environment, children, health, clothing and even your pets! Water-based paints allows us to play our part in being kinder to our environment, rather than using harsh oil or shellac based paints. Another added benefit to this is the drying times, drying time is a fraction to oil based paints and therefore provides reassurance that little ones wont be covered in it as soon as they are home from school. If for any reason the children do get mucky hands, water-based paints are much kinder to skin and easily washable! Which, in turn, leads us to your clothes. We have all accidentally brushed up against a door frame and felt our heart drop that the oil-based paint won’t lift so easy and also that white spirit may make it worse, for us that’s all history with water based and hybrid paints. Over the years we have also observed many people say that they have felt the oil-based paint fumes are so strong it feels heavy on their chest or even that their asthma is triggered. Thankfully, this is no longer a problem. Finally, your pets are relieved to have a paint that wont pull their fur out every time they brush past some wood work. It becomes a joy for the whole family!

These are all very important reasons to us and to how we steer our ship. It brings great sadness that anyone would have extenuating circumstances and feel as though they are not able to have any decorating done. So we make it our mission to eliminate whatever obstacle you may have in order for you to fall in love with your much loved home once again.

Oil based paints can still be used for job specification or at clients request.

HEALTH & SAFETY WITHIN THE EVERYDAY

Yes, you might think this is boring but its not about paper work (for once!)

If you have ever had trades attend your home for more than one day, you may find they leave their tools over night. Passion for Painting always leaves all kit in a small compact pile in a corner, packed tightly and neatly away, with clients permission. We always reassure clients that packing our kit up at the end of each working day is of no issue and will be standard procedure, and even covering over with a dust sheet so as to not entice curious minds!

Hoovering is a standard end of day protocol protecting small pattering feet and racing paws from screws and rubble. We like to lighten your burdens as much as possible with minimal mess and fuss when you’re in our care. We believe that decorating is a luxury to many, therefore making sure that the whole experience is a luxury treat from start to finish.

All consideration is taken when it comes to vulnerable people, young children and disabilities. We endeavour to make our working environment as safe as possible. One of our safety approaches includes stair rods. When undertaking a hall, stairs and landing. These spring-loaded rods tuck the dust sheets nice and tightly into the stairs, ensuring minimal trip hazrds on the stairs!

Laminate, wood, tiles, stone and linoleum flooring can be incredibly slippy for ladders if using standard material dust sheets. We aim to keep this hazard restricted by always using plastic backed dust sheets. The plastic grips better to the flooring than twill, cotton or material dust sheets.

We use a dust extraction equipment on rooms with heavy filling and sanding. This system reduces dust in the atmosphere significantly whilst also achieving a smooth finish. These systems do not promise 100% dust extraction but it is much more effective than other methods. This is also another great example of how we try to help look after our clients health, home and well-being.

ECO-FRIENDLY ATTITUDE

Passion for painting also has a passion for the planet and compassion for wildlife. As a result we search for new ways to eradicate single plastic use wherever and however possible. Find reusable materials instead of disposable materials, water-based products, wooden bamboo handle brushes with recycled bristles instead of plastic, natural bristles rather than synthetics if possible and so much more. We make-up our own lunch as oppose to buying, we do not use plastic bottles, we keep and reuse anything we have and also bring our own stainless steel bottles to work for water and try to encourage any employees to follow suit. This is another reason why we choose water-based systems wherever possible, because high VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds) are harmful to the planet.
